#1 Abilene State Park
Not the most beautiful park in the world, but you've got to work with what you've got, right? Last weekend, desperate to enjoy the mid-70 degree sunshiny weather, we trekked a whole 15 minutes outside of town to explore the nature trails, throw rocks in the water (Deron's favorite part), and just play. It was fun, and a great start to a new season of outings with my beautiful family...

trucks!
Last week, I noticed some construction going on down the street. Since Deron is an avid truck-lover, I decided to strap him into the wagon so we could take a closer look and watch these big trucks in action!! It was really fun to see his excitement... it just warms a mommy's heart!

3rd annual valentine's banquet
Friday night we had tons of fun celebrating Valentine's Day with some of our great friends from our church. Here are some gorgeous pictures as promised!
P.S. I was SO proud of how my hair turned out. I can not do hair well at all... in fact, this took an hour and a half! But it turned out great, and I was so happy!

happy valentine's day!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I love this day set aside for love. I love the hearts and the red and pink, the flowers and the kisses. It's just great. I don't care if this holiday started out as something pagan- love is definitely something to celebrate!
Tomorrow night is our church's 3rd annual Valentine's Banquet. It is sure to be an awesome night... I love getting all dressed up and getting my love all dressed up and dancing and being without kids for a night! There will for sure be pictures up after that.
We HAD planned for tonight on getting some yummy stuffed pizza from Joe's, and hopefully watching a nice, romantic, sappy movie. The only thing is, we found out that we have a test tomorrow morning in our government class. (Yes, gov't. And we're in it together... so that's fun.) So we'll have to do some studying. (Anybody recall 3 advantages of federalism?? How about some of the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation?) I don't think it will be so hard, just a little put out that it got planned on the day after Valentine's! I mean, what was she thinking?! :)
So anyway, Happy Valentine's Day to my best friend, my love, my life, my sweet husband, Philip. I adore you in so many ways, and I am so excited to share many many more years in your arms. *mwah*

Deron sings!
So two... "No, I can't sing ABC's right now".
And we're working on getting the letters right. If you'll notice this is how it goes currently:
ABCDFYGHYKKmumumumummum P! QRSTVVWXYZ
Twinkle Twinkle
He misses the middle, but it's still too cute!
And no, he doesn't have chicken nuggets at EVERY meal. :)

for grandmama
Yes, pictures of the grandkids. Enjoy, grandmama!
Noah and Deron at the park a few weeks ago.
And the smudge on my camera. I seriously need to clean that off.

the LOST party
So many of our friends are now LOST addicts as of last summer. As for Philip and I, we've never watched it on TV, but we went through 3 seasons in probably only a few weeks during the summer thanks to DVD sets. So, the long awaited return of this blessed (used very loosely) show returns.
Our ticket on Oceanic to the party.
The "hatch" door where the viewing took place.
No LOST party would be complete without Neato cake.
Recipe: bottom layer - brownie
next layer - chocolate chip cookie
top layer - white cake
in between layers - icing
cookie crumbled on top
There is a warning with eating this cake.
Do so very SLOWLY to prevent stomach ache or sugar coma.
MacCutcheon
This is what I made. Leafy, "jungly" spinach artichoke dip.
With Dharma Initiative Wheat Thins.
We also had shrimp of course as well as other assundry food items.
There's some Artz in a bowl, too. Gross.
Dharma Initiative (root) Beer. Awesome.
Serving Suggestion: DRINK.
May contain some alcohol.
Dharma Initiative fish biscuits.
From the cages where Sawyer and Kate were trapped.
